1st regular session of 3rd Kachin State Hluttaw begins

The first regular session of the Third Kachin State Hluttaw took place at the Kachin State Hluttaw meeting hall in Myitkyina yesterday.

Dr Than Htay Aung, Constituency 2 from Myitkyina Township, was elected as the meeting chair.

The meeting chair announced that the meeting had officially commenced, and U Rawam Jone, Constituency 1 from Machanbaw Township, was elected as Kachin State Hluttaw Speaker, whereas U Than Tun Aye, Constituency 2 from Mohnyin Township, was Deputy Speaker.

The meeting chair transferred the responsibilities to Kachin State Hluttaw Speaker U Rawam Jone.

The Speaker extended greetings, highlighting the role of Hluttaw, the need to develop Kachin State, improve livelihoods, and reduce poverty through effective laws, and also pledged to perform his duties fairly and work to strengthen democratic opportunities in the state. — State IPRD/KTZH
