Authorities seized narcotic drugs worth over K67 million in separate operations in Pyaygyi Tagun and Thazi townships, according to the Myanmar Police Force.
On March 28 at around 1:30 p.m., a joint anti-narcotics team stopped a motorcycle in Pyaygyi Tagun Township and arrested Myint Naing Oo (aka Ko Ye), 56. Officers seized 6,000 ecstasy pills valued at K12 million.
Follow-up searches at his residence later that day uncovered an additional 10,000 methamphetamine pills, 1 kilogram of crushed methamphetamine, and 8 grams of crystal meth, with a combined estimated value exceeding K35 million. He has been charged under the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Law.
In a separate operation the same night, police intercepted a passenger vehicle near Kwee Tat Son Village in Thazi Township. Two suspects—Ma Myint Myint Htwe, 26, and Ma Su Su Win, 45—were found carrying 11,700 methamphetamine pills and 2.8 kilograms of raw opium, valued at over K20 million.
