MoFA Union Minister receives China’s Special Envoy for Asian Affairs

Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe received Mr Deng Xijun, Special Envoy for Asian Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

The discussion focused on the acceleration of the existing friendly relations, mu-tually beneficial cooperation between Myanmar and China, and cooperation in maintaining peace and stability along the border of the two countries. In addition, they cordially exchanged views on matters including current developments in a peace process, the continued constructive support of China for Myanmar’s efforts to achieve lasting peace and socioeconomic development, cooperation in combat-ting online scamming and other illegal activities in border areas. Both sides reaf-firmed their mutual support at the regional and multilateral levels, and cordially exchanged views on matters of mutual interest. — MNA
