Myittha Township Plants 607 Acres of Green Gram in Pre-Monsoon Season
Myittha, 17 March
A total of 201,100 acres of various summer crops are planned for cultivation in Myittha Township, Mandalay Region, depending on water availability. To date, 607 acres of green gram have been planted in Kume Front Camp and Mongmao Front Camp to support local food security and increase farmers’ income, according to the Township Agriculture Department.
During the 2025–2026 pre-monsoon season, the department is providing field-based training to farmers on selecting high-yielding varieties, applying proper cultivation techniques, preventing pests and diseases, and producing high-quality crops.
Farmers noted that choosing suitable crop varieties and using appropriate agricultural inputs can significantly improve both yield and quality of green gram production.— War War Myint (Myittha)
