Union Transport Minister inspects Nay Pyi Taw-Toungoo railway
Union Minister for Transport U Mya Tun Oo, accompanied by Deputy Minister U Aung Myaing, the permanent secretary, and the managing director of the Myanma Railways, inspected the ongoing work to upgrade the speed of the Toungoo-Nay Pyi Taw railway section, reconstruction of new stations along the route, the condition of bridges on the railway line, earthwork and bridge construction for the Toungoo bypass railway, and the construction of the new Toungoo railway station yesterday.
The Union minister and party inspected the upgrade work on the Toungoo-Nay Pyi Taw railway section with the RBE train, and instructed the need to complete the work in time, dig drainage on both sides of the rail track and maintain to operate at a speed of 75 kilometres between Toungoo and Nay Pyi Taw.
On arrival at Toungoo railway station, the Union minister and party heard the report made by Toungoo district-level officials, and the Union minister instructed responsible officials to complete the work in time, meeting the designated design and standards.
They observed earthwork and bridge construction for the Toungoo bypass railway and the construction of a new railway station. During the inspection, the Union minister provided instructions regarding the embankment construction to ensure proper density and good compaction after the removal of topsoil, and timely completion. — MNA/KTZH
