Yangon Zoo introduces feeding programme
YANGON Zoo said on 21 April that it has just introduced a feeding programme which aims to support the well-being of animals protected at the zoo.
The feeding programme will fulfil the required nutrients for the animals, and it is also good for the public to show loving-kindness and care through participation.
A one-day meal including all nutrients (meat, fruits and vegetables and dried food) will cost K2.5million while a one-day meal for carnivores and herbivores is set at K1 million, respectively. A one-day meal for animals that eat dried food will cost K500,000.
Participating in the feeding programme can support the well-being of animals directly and also help strengthen the bond of love and kindness between humans and animals, the zoo said. So, any individual who wants to do something good to celebrate their birthday or other special occasions can donate food along with the feeding programme, it said.
Yangon Zoo is open from 8 am to 5 pm daily. — MT/ZS
