Environmental awareness talk held at Mongkhun Model Village in Tanai Township




THE Tanai Township Rural De­velopment Department, under the Ministry of Cooperative and Rural Development, collaborat­ed with the Township Agricul­ture Department to conduct an environmental awareness talk at Mongkhun Model Village in Tanai Township, Kachin State, on 17 May.


The event aimed to edu­cate rural residents on waste management systems, haze mitigation, and environmental conservation.



During the talk, U Zaw Myo, Head of the Tanai Town­ship Rural Development De­partment, discussed environ­mental conservation, haze reduction, and proper waste disposal. He also highlighted the health risks of air pollution and indoor pollution, includ­ing various infectious diseas­es, and explained preventive measures.


Subsequently, U Nyi Nyi Htwe, Head of the Township Ag­riculture Department and staff gave lectures on the benefits of reducing plastic bag usage, different types of waste, and en­vironmental care. Following the presentations, they replied to questions raised by attendees.


The talk was attended by township-level departmental officials, village elders, and res­idents. Informative pamphlets were also distributed to the at­tendees during the talk. — Cho Than Nyunt (Rural)
