Myanmar Fight traditional Lethwei event held in Yangon
The Myanmar Fight New Generation Traditional Lethwei Tournament No 32 was held with 10 bouts at Theinbyu Gymnasium in Mingala Taungnyunt Township yesterday.
The event was jointly organized by the Department of Sports and Physical Education, the Myanmar Traditional Lethwei Federation and the Myanmar Martial Art Group (MMAG), with support from Myanmar Economic Holdings Public Company Limited.
Several matches ended in hard-fought draws, including Ye Min Aung of Smart Fight against Moe Kyoe of 555 Sport, Htet Wai Yan of Kyar Ma Naing against Khe Bway Htoo of Yoe Yar Kyar, Yan Myo Aung of YMA against Waw Joseph of Yoe Yar Kyar, Banyar of Strong Wrestler against Hein Htet Aung of Shwe Daung Phyu, and Shwe Htee of YMA against Naing Zin Oo of Kyar Bayin.
In other bouts, Thar Thar of Danubyu defeated Kachin Thway Yaing of Top One by knockout in the second round, while Pyae Phyo Aung of Kyar Bayin knocked out Saw Kee Doh of Nine Club in the second round.
David of MK-1 claimed victory after Saw Myo Kyaw of Danubyu was unable to continue in the second round due to punches and kicks. Phoe Khwar Si of Bago Club also won after Saw Lin Htet Naing of Danubyu took a break in the third round following sustained attacks.
In the final highlighted bout, Sa Htet Lin of MK-1 defeated Saw Morning Shine of DOJO 9 after the latter was unable to continue in the third round. — Bala/KZL
