Myanmar joins ASEAN-China Member Friendship Associations Meeting in China




OFFICIALS from the Myan­mar-China Friendship As­sociation (Central) attended the ASEAN-China Member Friendship Associations Meet­ing, which was held from 25 to 28 May in Huaxian, Anhui Province, China.


The meeting was hosted by the Chinese People’s As­sociation for Friendship with Foreign Countries and also featured the 5th ASEAN-China Friendship Association Presi­dents’ Meeting. A delegation led by U Tin Oo, Chairman of the Myanmar-China Friend­ship Association (Central), together with three executive members, attended the event.


In conjunction with the meeting, a commemorative ceremony was held to mark the 35th anniversary of ASE­AN-China relations and the 20th anniversary of the estab­lishment of the China-ASEAN People-to-People Friendship foundation.


During the ASEAN-China Member Friendship Associ­ations Meeting, participants discussed regional develop­ment and cooperation under a win-win approach.


Discussions also focused on advancing from a strategic partnership towards building a community with a shared future, as well as formulat­ing work plans for 2026-2028 aimed at further strengthening friendship ties and expanding cooperation initiatives. — ASH/ TH
