Myanmar to deepen industrial, investment cooperation with SCO member states

MYANMAR will cooperate with China’s Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and its member states in the industri­al and investment sectors, said Myanmar Ambassador to China U Zaw Win Myint.

The Ambassador made that remark while delivering a speech at the Green and Sus­tainable Development Forum held in Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province, China, on 28-30 April.

Green and sustainable de­velopment is crucial, and My­anmar is undertaking efforts in renewable energy, environmen­tal conservation, and enriching natural resources. Myanmar will be working together with neighbouring China to achieve its environmental conservation and sustainable development goals, he added.

Through regional coopera­tion, the country will accelerate efforts in carbon reduction and promote a green environment. As China is a key partner of Myanmar, both sides will col­laborate on renewable energy and foster a sustainable green environment.

Myanmar is willing to work with the SCO on clean energy, a green environment, and sus­tainable agricultural develop­ment. — ASH/KK
