Over 200 Myanmar EPS workers despatched to ROK this month

MORE than 200 Myanmar EPS workers were dispatched to the Republic of Korea this month under the management of the Public Overseas Employment Agency (POEA), according to the Myanmar Embassy to the Republic of Korea.

100 New manufacturing workers were sent by Korean Air KE492 on 6 May; five service workers – four men and one woman – and two agricultural workers, totalling seven, were sent by Singapore Airlines SQ608 on 12 May; and 101 manufacturing workers and 11 construction workers, totalling 112, were sent by Korea Air KE492 on 13 May.

The labour attaché from the Myanmar Embassy in Seoul welcomed workers and supported assistances they needed. Upon their arrival, Ambassador U Myo Myint Maung greeted them via video call and urged them to call the embassy if they had difficulty.

He also spoke with officials from the Human Resources Development Service of Korea about work that requires coordination and urged them not to hesitate to contact the embassy if there is an issue, said the embassy. — MT/ZS
