Rehabilitation Coordination Meeting held for Falam, Tiddim and Tonzang




A coordination meeting on re­habilitation and reconstruction works for Falam, Tiddim and Tonzang in Chin State was held yesterday at Thwam Wum Rest House in Ward 1, Tiddim.


The meeting was attend­ed by Chairman of the Chin State Rehabilitation and Re­construction Committee, Dep­uty Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Than Soe and officials.


At the meeting, the deputy minister delivered an opening address, saying that partici­pants discussed in detail ar­rangements for timely supply of rice rations for government staff and residents returning to Falam, Tiddim and Tonzang towns, provision of construc­tion materials and relief sup­plies to the respective areas, replenishment of fuel and ma­chinery for field operations, and coordinated implemen­tation of rehabilitation tasks across departments. The dep­uty minister also gave neces­sary coordination and support based on requirements raised.


Eight tonnes of rice for staff and residents arriving in Falam, Tiddim and Tonzang were donated by the People’s Republic of China under the APTERR programme. The do­nated rice arrived in Kalay by Tatmadaw aircraft from Yan­gon on 31 May. The supplies will be promptly distributed to the respective townships. — District IPRD/KZL
