Rehabilitation Coordination Meeting held for Falam, Tiddim and Tonzang
A coordination meeting on rehabilitation and reconstruction works for Falam, Tiddim and Tonzang in Chin State was held yesterday at Thwam Wum Rest House in Ward 1, Tiddim.
The meeting was attended by Chairman of the Chin State Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Committee, Deputy Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Than Soe and officials.
At the meeting, the deputy minister delivered an opening address, saying that participants discussed in detail arrangements for timely supply of rice rations for government staff and residents returning to Falam, Tiddim and Tonzang towns, provision of construction materials and relief supplies to the respective areas, replenishment of fuel and machinery for field operations, and coordinated implementation of rehabilitation tasks across departments. The deputy minister also gave necessary coordination and support based on requirements raised.
Eight tonnes of rice for staff and residents arriving in Falam, Tiddim and Tonzang were donated by the People’s Republic of China under the APTERR programme. The donated rice arrived in Kalay by Tatmadaw aircraft from Yangon on 31 May. The supplies will be promptly distributed to the respective townships. — District IPRD/KZL
