Union Minister for Border Affairs inspects regional development projects in Mandalay Region
UNION Minister for Border Affairs Lt-Gen Phone Myat inspected the sinking of tube-wells, solar-powered water pumping systems, and the excavation of earthen ponds for water storage during the summer season in Kantaung, Htamonkan, and Thapyaywa villages in Meiktila Township yesterday morning.
He observed the quality of the drinking water in the reservoir at Theintaung Tawya Monastery in Wundwin Township for contamination and instructed officials to ensure that no soil layers would compromise the strength of the reservoir or allow water infiltration.
Subsequently, the Union minister inspected the tube-well sinking project and earth-pond renovation work in Ywashe Village, Wundwin Township, as well as the completed concrete road along the ascent route to Pyetkhayway Mountain in Kume Town. — MNA/TH
