Union Transport Minister joins Thilawa Port Warehouse opening




UNION Minister for Transport and for Digital Development and Communications U Mya Tun Oo attended the opening ceremony of Modern Ware­house No 1 operated by Myan­mar Agribusiness and General Development Public Company Limited at Plot No 29 of the Thilawa Port area.


The warehouse project was implemented under the su­pervision of the Myanma Port Authority. The Union minister unveiled the commemorative plaque. During the event, the Union minister said Thilawa ports play a key role in devel­oping transit trade and trans­shipment businesses that can strengthen the country’s trade sector.


He also urged MAGDPL to continue investing in the re­maining three planned ware­houses and encouraged other investors in the Thilawa port area to accelerate ongoing and future projects.

 

After the ceremony, offi­cials viewed exhibitions inside the warehouse, inspected the storage of maize intended for export and visited planned warehouse construction sites.


The Union minister visited the Computer Based Exami­nation Centre at the Depart­ment of Marine Administration (Dawbon branch) and instruct­ed officials to systematically im­plement the CBE system and improve maritime examination standards in line with modern requirements. — MNA/KZL
