Ancient Indian currency secrets unveiled
A sharing section of fascinating history of ancient Indian currency was held at India Centre on the evening of 16 June.
The section was organized by the Swami Vivekananda Culture Centre, Embassy of India, aiming to highlight the cultural and institutional links between India and Myanmar.
The sharing section was addressed by Indian Ambassador Shri Abhay Thakur, while a historian, sociologist and coin collector, Shri Omprakash Gattani on India’s cultural heritage, the historical significance of the Assam kingdom, the traditions of coinage, the ancient trade links between Assam and Myanmar, and the tea industry in India.
The sharing section was attended by the Indian Ambassador to Myanmar and his wife, guests, Scholars, people of Indian origin and interested people. — ASH/MKKS
