MFF marks Olympic Day with women’s futsal event

 

A women’s futsal tourna­ment marking Internation­al Olympic Day (Olympic Day Movement 2026) was held on 24 June at the MFF Futsal Stadium in Yangon, organized by the Futsal and Beach Soccer Committee of the Myanmar Football Federation.

 

At the commemorative event, players from the My­anmar women’s national futsal team and the prelim­inary U19 women’s squad were divided into three bal­anced teams and competed in friendly matches.

 

The tournament aimed to promote the key objectives of Olympic Day, including the development of sport at all levels, the en­couragement of healthier lifestyles among the public, and the increase of youth participation in sport.

 

Organizers noted that holding such Olympic Day events helps to raise the profile of women’s futsal in Myanmar and supports the development of skills and experience for the next generation of female ath­letes. — TWA/KZL
