Pwintbyu Township Exceeds Rainy Season Pulses Planting Target
Pwintbyu, June 26
Pwintbyu Township in Magway Region has completed the planting of 13,420 acres of pulses during this year's rainy season, surpassing its target of 9,523 acres, according to the Township Agriculture Department.
Planting began in June and includes green gram, pigeon pea, lablab bean, and other pulse varieties. The department has been assisting farmers with quality seed selection, proper cultivation techniques, pest control, and systematic fertilizer use to improve productivity.
Daw Moe Moe Wai, Staff Officer of the Township Agriculture Department, said higher yields and better-quality pulses would help meet local demand while boosting farmers' incomes through the sale of surplus produce. She also encouraged further expansion of pulse cultivation across the township.— Hlaing Win Lay (Pwintbyu Myay)
