Sagaing Immigration Office repaired following bombing

REPAIR work is underway at the Sagaing Township Immigration Office following damage caused by a timed explosive device, while public services continue through temporary arrangements.

During a visit to Sagaing on Wednesday, officials inspected the township office, where staff are currently providing services from a temporary facility set up in the public waiting area. Discussions were also held on operational requirements and measures to ensure the uninterrupted delivery of public services.

Officials reviewed ongoing renovation work at the office building, which sustained damage from an explosion caused by a timed improvised explosive device. Financial assistance and food supplies were also provided to township office staff.

At the Sagaing District Immigration Office, food items were distributed to staff from both district and township offices. Financial assistance donated by a local benefactor for the Sagaing Township Office was handed over through district authorities, while additional support funds and food supplies were provided to employees who were injured by bomb fragments.

Authorities said efforts are continuing to restore the damaged office and support affected staff, while maintaining immigration services for the public. — MNA/KZL
