Yamethin’s rural production road project inspected
THE Department of Rural Development under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development inspected the ongoing construction of a rural production road and related work in Padigon Village of Yamethin Township yesterday. The project is being implemented to help local farmers transport agricultural products from their farmlands to markets at lower costs.
The head of the Yamethin Township Department of Rural Development and engineering staff inspected the construction progress of the road measuring 2.652 furlongs in length, 12 feet in width and nine inches in thickness. She met members of the village road implementation committee and stressed the importance of completing the work within the prescribed period and coordinated necessary assistance in response to the needs presented by villagers.
The project is being implemented by the engineering staff of the Township Department of Rural Development with a Union fund allocation of K26.86 million under the 2026-2027 financial year. Construction began in the second week of May this year and has now reached about 70 per cent completion. Upon completion, the road will benefit 260 households and 1,157 residents in the village. — Sein Lwin (Rural)
