Yamethin’s rural production road project inspected




THE Department of Ru­ral Development under the Ministry of Cooper­atives and Rural Devel­opment inspected the ongoing construction of a rural production road and related work in Padigon Village of Yamethin Township yes­terday. The project is be­ing implemented to help local farmers transport agricultural products from their farmlands to markets at lower costs.


The head of the Yamethin Township Department of Rural Development and engi­neering staff inspected the construction pro­gress of the road meas­uring 2.652 furlongs in length, 12 feet in width and nine inches in thick­ness. She met members of the village road im­plementation commit­tee and stressed the importance of complet­ing the work within the prescribed period and coordinated necessary assistance in response to the needs presented by villagers.


The project is be­ing implemented by the engineering staff of the Township Department of Rural Development with a Union fund allo­cation of K26.86 million under the 2026-2027 financial year. Con­struction began in the second week of May this year and has now reached about 70 per cent completion. Upon completion, the road will benefit 260 households and 1,157 residents in the village. — Sein Lwin (Rural)
