Drugs Worth over K470 Million Seized in Sagaing and Waw Townships

Police seized narcotics worth more than K470 million in separate operations in Sagaing and Waw townships, according to the Myanmar Police Force.

In Sagaing, a joint anti-narcotics team searched a Toyota Hilux Surf near Tagaung Ward in Sagaing Township and seized 230,000 methamphetamine tablets with an estimated local value of K460 million. Two suspects were arrested and charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.

In a separate operation in Waw Township, officers searched a Toyota Hiace and confiscated 20,500 tramadol capsules worth about K10.25 million. Three suspects were arrested and charged under the same law.—MNA
