Kyaukpadaung’s VDP concrete road project inspected




THE Department of Rural Development, under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development, NyaungU District, Man­dalay Region, conducted a field inspection yesterday to review the completion of a concrete village road con­structed under the Village Development Plan (VDP) Project in Paukthit Village, Kyaukpadaung Township.


Kyaukpadaung Town­ship Department of Rural Development Head Daw Aye Aye Thet and staff inspected the completed concrete road construction work. She also met village elders and villagers and discussed the need to col­lectively maintain and use the concrete road sustain­ably, while coordinating necessary measures to meet the village’s require­ments.


Paukthit Village is implementing village de­velopment activities using K15 million allocated un­der the Village Develop­ment Plan (VDP) Project and contributions from locals. With technical as­sistance and close super­vision from officials of the Township Department of Rural Development, the construction of a concrete road measuring 356 feet in length, 12 feet in width and six inches in thickness was carried out by local villagers themselves dur­ing the 2026-2027 financial year, and has now been completed 100 per cent to improve year-round rural transportation. — Karan (Rural)
