MoFA Union Minister receives AHA Centre Executive Director

Tin Maung Swe received a delegation led by Mr Lee Yam Ming, Executive Director
of the ASEAN Coordinating Centre for Humanitarian Assistance on Disaster Management
(AHA Centre), yesterday at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw.
The Union minister expressed his
appreciation for the efforts of the AHA Centre to provide humanitarian
assistance in Myanmar, while encouraging to maintain the close cooperation
with the Government of Myanmar to ensure that humanitarian assistance is
delivered to those who are in need effectively and efficiently. The Union
minister emphasized the importance of ensuring that humanitarian aid aligns
with Myanmar’s prioritized needs, and explained the Government’s facilitation
of the AHA Centre’s initiatives in delivering humanitarian assistance to the
people of Myanmar. The Union minister also suggested areas of cooperation with
the AHA Centre, and reaffirmed that Myanmar remains committed to supporting
the AHA Centre’s functions in Myanmar.
Mr Lee Yam Ming expressed his appreciation
for the support and assistance provided by the Government of Myanmar in
delivering humanitarian assistance through the AHA Centre. He also briefed the
AHA Centre’s future plans for the provision of humanitarian assistance to
Myanmar. — MNA
