Myanmar U12 team to compete in Japan’s youth football tournament
MYANMAR U12 national team will participate in the U12 Junior Soccer World Challenge 2026, an annual youth football tournament hosted in Japan, according to the Myanmar Football Federation.
A player selection programme for the formation of the team will be held on 11 and 12 July at the National Football Academy (Yangon) and Myanmar Football Academy (Mandalay). Eligible youth players from across the country are invited to take part.
Registration must be completed by 9 July via email at zarniohnkhin@mff-ma.com or by contacting 09-4037 25425. Applicants must be born after 1 January 2014 and are required to bring a school recommendation letter, household registration, and birth certificate. The federation’s medical team will verify age eligibility.
Myanmar has been participating in the tournament annually since 2023 to gain international experience for young players, making this the fourth consecutive appearance. The competition features academy teams from Japan as well as youth sides from Europe, South America, and Asia, including well-known clubs such as Barcelona’s academy. — Shine Htet Zaw/KZL
