Myanmar Teqball medallists receive cash awards

MYANMAR’S national Teqball athletes who won one gold, one silver and one bronze medal at the XX Asian Games in Nago­ya, Japan, have received cash awards in recognition of their achievements.

The Teqball events were held from 17 to 20 Sep­tember. Khin Hnin Wai won gold in the women’s singles after defeating an Indone­sian opponent in straight games in the final. Su Mon Aung and Phyu Phyu Than won silver in the women’s doubles, while Saw Friday took bronze in the men’s singles.

Myanmar Olympic Committee, Myanmar Foot­ball Federation President U Zaw Zaw and Myanmar Te­qball Federation President Dr Htet Khine Win each presented K60 million to the medal-winning athletes.

Federation Vice-Pres­ident U Chit Ko Ko and General Secretary U Phyo Zaw Zaw also presented an additional K30 million each. A separate ceremony to honour the athletes will be held soon. — Bala/KZL
