Online scam hubs demolished in Shwe Kokko Phase II crackdown
THE Government has prioritized efforts
to combat online fraud and online gambling as a national duty, working not only
with domestic forces but also with the governments of neighbouring countries to
conduct effective inspections and crackdowns to prevent such syndicates from
gaining a foothold in the country.
Demolition work on the remaining 63
structures in Phase II of operations in the Shwe Kokko area resumed systematically
on 6 October, following the classification of the buildings according to the
demolition methods to be used: 25 structures are to be demolished using heavy
machinery, four using controlled explosives, and 34 located adjacent to residential
homes are to be dismantled floor by floor through manual labour.
During ongoing demolition operations
until yesterday, one five-storey building designated for demolition using heavy
machinery underwent further dismantling. It was 92 per cent demolished, while
the other was 30 per cent dismantled. Meanwhile, preparations for the use of
explosives, including wiring, are underway for a six-storey building scheduled
for explosive demolition.
