MSWRR Union Minister receives UNOCHA Myanmar Head

UNION Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Ko Ko Lwin received Mr Justin Brady, Head of Office of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA) in Yangon, at the ministry’s meeting room yesterday morning.

 

Both sides exchanged views on UNOCHA’s activities in Myanmar; the implementation and extension of the Letter of Agreement (LoA) signed between the Ministry’s Disaster Management Department and UNOCHA; cooperation in humanitarian assistance; UNOCHA’s fundraising efforts and approval of funding for Myanmar; and the Department of Rehabilitation’s mine action plans.

 

The meeting was attended by the deputy minister, the director-general, the deputy permanent secretary, relevant ministry officials and a representative of the UNOCHA office. — MNA/MKKS
