SAC Chairman PM Senior General Min Aung Hlaing feeds white elephants including four-month-old Rattha Nandaka, companion elephants

 



Rattha Nandaka white ele­phant, born to female elephant Zar Nan Hla of the compound of Myanma Timber Enterprise in Taungup Township of Rakhine State at 6:30 am on 23 July 2022, turned four months yesterday.


Chairman of the State Ad­ministration Council Prime Min­ister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, accompanied by the coun­cil secretary, the joint secretary, council members and senior mil­itary officers, fed white elephants including Rattha Nandaka white elephant and companion ele­phants at the white elephant shed in the precinct of Nay Pyi Taw Uppatasanti Pagoda yester­day morning.


The Senior General, wife and party were welcomed by Union Minister for Natural Re­sources and Environmental Con­servation U Khin Maung Yi and party. The Senior General and wife gave feedstuffs to Rattha Nandaka white elephant (the precious white elephant beloved by the country which will bring prosperity and happiness to the nation, Yadana white elephants Baddawady, Nandawady, Ngwe Saddan, Haymawady, Zatakalya and Thirimalar and other com­panion elephants.


The Senior General asked about the health conditions of Rattha Nandaka white elephant and body growth and presented cash assistance for feeding the white elephants and companion elephants from the white ele­phant shed.


In its birth, Rattha Nanda­ka white elephant (the precious white elephant beloved by the country which will bring prosper­ity and happiness to the nation), the white elephant was two feet and five inches in height, three feet and one inch in girth, with the weight of about 180 pounds. The white elephants consist of seven out of eight unique fea­tures: pearl-coloured eyes, plan­tain branch-shaped back, white hair, a distinctive tail, auspicious plot signs on the skin, pinky skin, each limb having five claws and big ears. Now the white elephant is four months old and it has two feet and 11 inches in height and four feet and five inches in girth with 288 pounds of weight. At present, the white elephant lives happily and healthily together with the mother elephant at the Yadana white elephant shed in the precinct of Nay Pyi Taw Up­patasanti Pagoda. — MNA
