Construction of earthen road in Kengtung Township completed 90%

 


Kengtung, 11 January

Officials from Department for Development for Border Areas and National Races looked into the progress of construction work of rural road lingking Yanlone-Womhpyak villages in Kengtung Township, Shan State on 10 January.

An earthen road measuring three miles long and six box culverts on seven miles and three furlong long road is being constructed by a tender winning company with Ks. 203.4 million allocated by the regional government in 2022-2023 FY. and it has been completed 90 percent.

During the inspection tour, officials met members of the construction company and instructed to meet the construction deadlines and gave necessary instruction. The road will benefit local people from villages in the township, helping them transport rural products to the markets in a timely manner.—Aung Zin Myint(IPRD)
