Workshop on Myanmar’s agriproducts access to Japanese market

 



A workshop on Myanmar’s agriproducts access to the Jap­anese market was held yester­day in Nay Pyi Taw.


It was organized by the Myanmar Trade Promotion Organization of the Ministry of Commerce with the support of the ASEAN-Japan Centre.


Permanent Secretary U Min Min gave an opening speech and Dr Yuka Kubota, senior executive officer, on be­half of the secretary-general of the ASEAN-Japan Centre, greeted the workshop. The di­rector-general and the director of the Myanmar Trade Promo­tion Organization explained the objectives of the project imple­mentation and the holding of the workshop.


Officials discussed poten­tial agricultural products to be exported to the Japanese market. They viewed the booths where eggs, ginger, traditional medicines, vegetables and sesa­me were displayed. Represent­atives who grow, produce and export agricultural products to the Japanese market then put forward their experiences and answered the questions raised by attendees. They also discussed the advantages and disadvantages of entering the Japanese market.—MNA/TS
