DPM Union MoTC Minister, Union Ministers, officials oversee recovery efforts in Rakhine State

SAC Member Deputy Prime Minister Union MoTC Minister Admiral Tin Aung San, accompanied by Union Ministers Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung, U Myo Thant and Dr Thet Thet Khine, deputy ministers and officials attended the handover ceremony of donations for the restoration of Buddhist monasteries, Christian churches and Hindu temples and cash providing ceremony for Homes for Aged and Youth Development Philanthropic Centres yesterday.

 

Admiral Tin Aung San and party inspected the unloading of relief and rehabilitation materials at Sittway Multipurpose Port, distribution of them to affected areas, and gave necessary instructions to officials.

 

Union Minister Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung presented cash donations to the Wailuwun monastic education school, the St Mark’s Cathedral and the Sri Sri Mohadev Bari (Mahashiva) Hindu Temple.

 

Union Minister Dr Thet Thet Khine gave a K118.1 Million donation to Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin for Homes for Aged and Youth Development Philanthropic Centres.

 

Admiral Tin Aung San and party inspected the reconstruction of the damaged gravel retaining wall along the strand road, concrete roads and platforms in Sittway. He called for making the restoration stronger and better than the original condition, and greening, cleaning and beautifying work for public recreation.

 

The Deputy Prime Minister, Union ministers, the Rakhine State chief minister and deputy ministers attended the coordination meeting on rehabilitation held at the Rakhine State government office. — MNA/TS
