Myanmar delegation led by MoRAC Union Minister arrives back

The Myanmar delegation led by
Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Ko Ko arrived back in Yangon
after attending the 18th China-ASEAN Culture Forum in China yesterday.
During the visit, the Union
Minister visited the Guanyin Zen Temple in Nanning and offered cash donations
to an assistant monk of the temple on 18 June and met the Consul-General and
staff at the Myanmar Consulate-General in Nanning in the same evening.
The Union Minister attended the
pre-coordination meeting of the 18th China-ASEAN Culture Forum at 6 pm on that
day.
During the discussion under the
topic “Building Smart Libraries and Promotion on Reading” of the 18th
China-ASEAN Culture Forum held on 19 June, the Union Minister discussed the
signs of progress in the sector of libraries and Director Dr Kay Thi Aye of the
National Library participated in Special Dialogue section.
The Union Minister also attended
the Opening Ceremony of Revival and Reconstruction of the Yongle encyclopedia
at Guangxi national library in the evening and observed the library and
museums.
The Union Minister and party also
headed to Liuzhou from Nanning on 20 June and visited the No Wang snail noodle
factory, Liuzhou Shrine, Liuzhou industrial museum and Bauhinia Culture
Creative Gallery exhibition hall. Then, the delegates attended the dinner
hosted by the Liuzhou Mayor and enjoyed the beauty of Liuzhou by ship.
The Union Minister and party
arrived back in Nanning on 21 June and went to Kunming airport and paid homage
to the Sitagu Sayadaw, who arrived at Kunming to renovate a replica of the
Shwedagon Pagoda in China, at the lounge of Kunming airport.
Moreover, the Union Minister and
party saw off Sitagu Sayadaw at Kunming airport and returned to Myanmar
