MIFER Deputy Minister joins 8th Meeting of High-Level Task Force on ASEAN Community’s Post-2025 Vision

The Myanmar delegation led by Dr
Wah Wah Maung, Eminent Person (EP) of Myanmar and Deputy Minister for Investment
and Foreign Economic Relations attended the 8th Meeting of High-Level Task
Force on ASEAN Community’s Post-2025 Vision (HLTF-ACV) in Jakarta, Indonesia,
on 26-27 June.
The meeting adopted the summary
of decisions and summary report of the 7th HLTF-ACV Meeting in Belitung and
exchanged of views on the development of ASEAN Community’s Post-2025 Vision and
its attendant documents. The meeting further discussed the drafting of ASEAN
Vision 2045 under the theme of “Resilient, Dynamic, and People-Centred ASEAN”.
The Deputy Minister expressed
appreciation to Co-chairs and ASEAN Secretariat for developing zero draft ASEAN
Vision 2045 and stressed that the ASEAN’s Community Post-2025 Vision should be
guided by the Core Elements which was noted by the 40th and 41st ASEAN Summits.
She also emphasized the importance of the spirit of unity in diversity and
togetherness, adhering to the shared principles, purposes, values, and norms enshrined
in the ASEAN Charter and other ASEAN instruments which are key ingredients to
maintain ASEAN as an international recognized association.
The Meeting was co-chaired by Mr.
Dian Triansyah Djani, Eminent Person (EP) of Indonesia and Special Advisor to the
Minister for Foreign Affairs on Priority Programmes, as the ASEAN Chair and Mr
Dato’ Zainuddin Yahya, Eminent Person (EP) of Malaysia and Former Malaysian
Ambassador.
The meeting agreed to further
discuss the way forward to finalize the draft vision and timely submit to the
upcoming ASEAN Summit which will be held in September 2023. — MNA
