Union ministers looks into progress in renovation of schools, religious buildings in Sittway

Union Ministers Lt-Gen Tun Tun
Naung, U Myo Thant and Dr Thet Thet Khine and Rakhine State Chief Minister U
Htein Lin inspected repairing of roof, ceiling and doors, water and electricity
repair tasks U Ottama Hall of Sittway yesterday morning.
Next, Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung and
party supplicated teaching of Pariyatti treatises, renovation of religious buildings
and religious affairs to abbot Maha Ganthavacaka Pandita Bhaddanta Meghiya at
Dekkhinarama Pariyatti Buddhist Learning Centre in Pyitawtha Ward. At Weluwun
Monastic Education School in Satyoekya Ward, they cordially conversed with
students and teachers.
They paid homage to head of the
school Bhaddanta Khemavamsa, and asked learning of students, conditions of
school buildings and religious affairs and offered alms to the Sayadaw.
Next, they distributed foodstuffs
to the students and viewed the land plot earmarked for the construction of the
new school building. A total of 832 students from KG class to Grade-8 class are
studying at the monastic school for the 2023-2024 academic year.
On arrival at the Sri Sri Moha
Dave Bahri (Maha Shiva) Hindu temple, they viewed renovation of damaged parts
at the temple and fulfilled the needs as well as donated foodstuff to an
official of the temple. They also looked into renovation of the St Mark’s
Cathedral and donated food to the reverend. —MNA /KZL
