Union Ministers meet UN Acting Resident Coordinator, Acting Humanitarian Coordinator

Union Ministers Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung, U Ko Ko Hlaing, and Dr Thet Thet Khine received Mr Ramanathan Balakrishnan, Acting Resident Coordinator and Acting Humanitarian Coordinator, and his team at the Rakhine State government office in Sittway.

 

During the meeting, both sides engaged in cordial discussions regarding the ongoing relief and rehabilitation efforts following Mocha, the systematic distribution of relief materials, the socioeconomic conditions in areas affected by the storm, and ways and means of managing international aid.

 

Also present at the meeting together with the Acting Resident Coordinator and Acting Humanitarian Coordinator were Ms Kyoko Ono, Deputy Head of OCHA Office, Daw Su Su Thatun, Senior Advisor to the RC/HC, Mr Riccardo Maia, UN Area Coordinator for Rakhine State, Mr Tom Otunga, Head of OCHA Rakhine Sub-Office, and U Kyaw Naing Win, Humanitarian Affairs Specialist of OCHA. — MNA/TS
