Kyat 650 million worth of narcotic drugs seized in Shan State

Acting on a tip-off, the combined team comprising anti-narcotic task force stopped and searched a vehicle driven by Maung Thein at the junction of Livestock Zone-4 on city bypass Road in Taunggyi Township, Shan State(South) at about 12:00 pm on July 4.

During the inspection, police members confiscated 20 kilos of Ice and 500000 yaba pills worth Ks. 650 million in the car.

According to the investigation, the drugs were carried from the town of Namhsan to the town of Kalaw, Shan State.  The suspects was charged under the country's drugs law, and further investigations were underway.—MPF
