Actress Soe Pyae Thazin’s family provides relief aid to flood victims in Toungoo, Pyinmana




ACADEMY award-winning actress Soe Pyae Thazin and her family donated cash to flood-stricken communities in Taungoo Township, Bago Re­gion, and Pyinmana Township, Nay Pyi Taw Council Area, on 16 September, sources close to the family confirmed.


The donations were directed to the flood relief camps set up at No 2 Basic Education High School in Toungoo Township and to the village of Kyanphosu in Pyinmana, where victims have been recovering from the recent floods. The family contributed K50 million to the relief camp in Toungoo and another K50 million to aid ongoing relief efforts in the area.


Additionally, they offered K30 million to the abbot of the Ohntaw Monastery, who pro­vides shelter for displaced flood victims. The abbot expressed his intent to use the funds to rebuild homes and restore the livelihoods of the flood-battered families. “May all celestial be­ings and human beings praise our donation,” Soe Pyae Thazin remarked, extending her heart­felt wishes for the well-being of flood victims. In addition to this, Soe Pyae Thazin and her fami­ly, along with other benevolent donors, had previously contrib­uted K50 million to the Toungoo Social Relief Association on 14 September.


Furthermore, on 16 Sep­tember, they donated another K50 million to the flood relief camp at No 2 Basic Education High School in Toungoo and K30 million to the flood-hit village of Kyanphosu in Pyinmana Town­ship, Nay Pyi Taw Council Area, for rehabilitation and reconstruc­tion efforts. — ASH/KZL
