Various seasonal crops
are being planted in Shwedaung Township of Bago Region. In this year’s winter oilseed
crops growing season, farmers in the Township have earmarked to plant a total
of 21,822 acres of oilseed crops to ensure the region's edible oil security.
In this winter oilseed
crops growing season, the Township has targeted to grow 21,822 acres of oilseed
crops. But farmers have only gown 10378 acres of oilseed crops including 15893
acres of ground nut, 5194 acres of sesame and 735 acres of sunflower in the
entire township so far.
Now, efforts are being
be made to meet the targeted areas. In addition, farmers will be provided with
necessary assistance and varieties of good quality seeds, according to the
