Performing Arts Competition fosters unity among national races
The Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competitions take a pivotal role in contributing to the sustainability of national cultures through the uplift of national integrity.
SENIOR General Min Aung Hlaing emphasized that the
performing arts competition aims to initiate friendly relations among national
races and contribute to the uplift and preservation of their traditional fine
arts through a comprehensive understanding of culture among them.
Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime
Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing delivered a speech at the opening of
the 25th Anniversary (Silver Jubilee) Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing
Arts Competitions at the Myanmar International Convention Centre II in Nay Pyi
Taw yesterday morning.
Speaking on the occasion, the Senior General
highlighted that despite different types, musical instruments of all national
races of Myanmar depend on five primary instruments made of bronze, string,
percussion, blowing and clapping.
He underscored that the performance of traditional
music of national races from states exposes their cultural heritage and shows
their unity.
He stressed that the Myanmar Traditional Cultural
Performing Arts Competitions are crucial in contributing to the sustainability
of national cultures through the uplift of national integrity.
The Senior General noted that the performing arts
competition aims to initiate friendly relations among national races and
contribute to the uplift and preservation of their traditional fine arts
through a comprehensive understanding of culture among them.
As the musicians of Myanmar preserved cultural
performing arts against the oppression of colonialists over the years, these
fine arts are still flourishing and aligned with Myanmar traditions, he added.
He recounted that song composers and authors,
including members of the Sangha, created their presentations on ten major
Jataka and 550 Nipata Jataka of Buddhism, poems, story narration, and scripts
for theatrical performances for the people of Myanmar to enjoy the essence of
performing arts.
The Senior General urged all artistes to sustain the
flourishing of performing arts of all national races of Myanmar through their
integrity and enhance the national spirit of the new generation of youths.
At the ceremony, Patron of the Leading Committee for
Organizing the Competition SAC Vice-Chairman Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior
General Soe Win, Chairman of the Leading Committee Union Minister for Religious
Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin and Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U Than Tun
Oo cut the ribbon to open the competition.
The Senior General pressed the button to unveil the
signboard of the competition.
The traditional band of national races performed
music entertainment.
Union Minister U Tin Oo Lwin reported to the Senior
General on arrangements for the competition.
The Senior General cordially greeted maestros who
would serve as members of the panel of judges at the competition and presented
cash awards to ethnic musicians from traditional bands of national races.
Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, wife of the Senior General, Daw
Than Than Nwe, wife of the Vice-Senior General, the Council Joint Secretary and
his wife, council members and their wives, union-level dignitaries, union
ministers and their wives, the Nay Pyi Taw Council chairman and officials
