SAC Secretary and wife attend Silver Jubilee performing arts competition
October 16
General Aung Lin Dwe, Secretary of the State Administration
Council, and his wife attended the 25th Anniversary Myanmar Traditional
Cultural Performing Arts Competition at the Nay Pyi Taw Development Committee’s
Theatre yesterday evening.
The competition featured performances of the grand “Maha
Zanaka” drama. Among those present were Union Minister for Commerce U Tun Ohn,
the Chairman of the Nay Pyi Taw Council, council members, judges, supervisors,
trainers, participants representing various states and regions, government
employees, their families, and traditional performance enthusiasts.
The competition began with the Magway Region team’s “Phan Kha
Myay” performing the original “Maha Zanaka” drama. The team impressed the
audience with Myanmar’s classical theatrical arts, including drama, dialogue,
singing, lamenting, and declamation, all complemented by graceful choreography.
The “Maha Zanaka” drama aimed to convey the moral teachings
of perseverance, loyalty, adherence to moral discipline, and wisdom, which
bring greater strength and tranquillity, whereas wrong beliefs and suspicions
lead to misfortune.
The 25th Anniversary (Silver Jubilee) Myanmar Traditional
Cultural Performing Arts Competition will continue with performances from
various regions, including Ayeyawady on 14 October and Magway on 15 October. It
will feature teams from Mon State, Mandalay, Yangon, Bago, and Sagaing Regions
from 16 to 20 October. — MNA/KZL
