SAC Chair PM Senior General Min Aung Hlaing visits Yunnan Vocational College, Kunming University of Science and Technology



DURING his visit to the Peo­ple’s Republic of China, Chair­man of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Sen­ior General Min Aung Hlaing toured Yunnan Vocational and Kunming University of Science and Technology in Kunming City yesterday afternoon.


At the vocational college, the delegation received a warm welcome from college officials, who presented information on the college’s academic pro­grammes in vocational and technical fields. The college has established connections with international institutions, in­cluding Myanmar’s Border Ar­eas and National Races Devel­opment University, to support vocational training for skilled workers and professionals. The Senior General engaged in dis­cussions to learn more about their operations and training initiatives.


The delegation then visited the college’s Electromechani­cal Training Centre, where they observed advanced machinery used in international competi­tions, including the World Skills Competition Training Base for network cabling. College rep­resentatives provided expla­nations of their cutting-edge technological facilities and activities.


At Kunming University of Science and Technology, the Senior General and his entou­rage were welcomed by Party Secretary Mr Teng Jiahua and other university officials. They viewed a video presentation on the university’s operations, fol­lowed by a live demonstration by Pro-rector Mr Liu Yanwen, showcasing AI technology ap­plications.


The delegation further ex­plored departments focused on UAV and drone technologies for agriculture, construction, and surveillance, as well as ad­vanced robotics, sensor tech­nology, and automated systems. University officials explained the application of these technol­ogies, and the Senior General asked questions and discussed.


As a gesture of marking the visit, gifts were exchanged between the Senior General and the university’s Party Secretary, followed by a group photo with university repre­sentatives.


Kunming University of Sci­ence and Technology, founded on 1 September 1954, is known for its engineering programmes and also offers courses in med­icine, agriculture, and biotech­nology. The university has part­nerships with institutions in 49 countries and regions, with 245 international cooperation agreements, fostering ad­vanced research, engineering training, and high-level collab­orative projects. — MNA/KZL
