Drugs Seized in Kengtung and Tachilek Townships

A combined team of the Anti-Drug Police Force conducted a search of a TOYOTA HIACE vehicle driven by Sai Yee Than near Wamtapon Village in Kengtung Township, Shan State, at 3:00 pm on 21 February. During the search, they seized 50 kg of ICE (Methamphetamine) worth K 400 million.

In a similar operation, another combined team stopped and searched a motorcycle driven by Ar Bu near Parkwe Village in Tachilek Township, Shan State, at 1:30 pm on 22 February. They discovered and seized 24 kg of raw opium worth K 1.68 million.

The offenders have been prosecuted under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.— MNA
