Kyunhla Township Harvests Over 18,000 Acres of Pulses

Kyunhla Township, located in Kanbalu District, Sagaing Region, has harvested over 18,000 acres of pulses planted during this year’s winter crop season, according to the Township Agriculture Department.

 

“Although the croplands in Kyunhla Township are receiving good rainfall, farmers are also using streams, canals, and groundwater to cultivate a variety of crops in addition to rice. This winter, the Township had planned to plant 19,793 acres of pulses and beans, but a total of 21,906 acres were planted, surpassing the target. As of now, 18,605 acres have been harvested, and the remaining crops are still being gathered,” said Daw Myint Myint Yi, head of the Township Agriculture Department.

 

The total area planted with pulses and beans in Kyunhla Township includes 11,727 acres of mung beans, 18 acres of butter beans, 241 acres of chickpeas, 7,337 acres of green peas, 2,132 acres of blue phaseolus lunatus beans, and 451 acres of lentils, according to the Township Agriculture Department.—Myo Win Nyo (Kyunhla)
