Myamala Garden opens in Mandalay for public enjoyment
A public garden called Myamala Garden
has been opened in Mandalay City, providing a space for people to relax and
enjoy nature. The Myamala Garden, located at the intersection of Theikpan Road
and 78th Street, within
the Sinphyu Kan area, was developed by the Mandalay City Development
Committee’s Parks and Playgrounds Department.
The garden was built in honour of Union
Day on 12 February and will continue to serve as a public recreation area. It
was developed to accommodate the 21st Fruit
and Flower Exhibition and Competition, which will take place over the next two
months. A spokesperson for the Mandalay City Development Committee said that
the garden will further enhance the beauty of the Sinphyu Kan area, making it
a pleasant space for public enjoyment.
The Myamala Garden spans around 680
square feet in length and 110 square feet in width. It includes several flower
beds, including a 60-foot-wide flower circle, a 40-foot-wide flower circle, and
a 30-foot-wide flower circle, featuring a variety of colourful flowers. The
garden also offers seating areas for visitors and plans to improve access roads
in and out of the garden.
The garden also features a fruit and
vegetable planting area, where local produce is grown. The committee plans to
make the garden more beautiful by adding more colourful flowers, ornamental
plants, and water features to enhance the visitor experience. The Mandalay
City Development Committee is committed to maintaining the city’s cleanliness
and aesthetic appeal, ensuring residents can access peaceful spaces like the
Mya Mala Garden. — Min Htet Aung (Mandalay Sub-Printing House/KZL
