8th State Central Working Committee of the Sangha commences 7th meeting
THE Eighth State Central Working
Committee of the Sangha held its first-day session of the seventh meeting at
Maha Pasana Cave on Thiri Mingala Kaba Aye Hill in Mayangon Township, Yangon
Region, yesterday morning.
Union Minister for Religious Affairs and
Culture U Tin Oo Lwin offered cash for nine prerequisites and Myanmar version
books on Parittas, Sutta and Desana preached by the Lord Buddha to State
Ovadacariya Sayadaws, members of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee and
members of the State Central Working Committee of the Sangha.
The meeting was presided over by
Chairman of the SSMNC Aggamaha Pandita Aggamaha Saddhammajotikadhaja Dr
Bhaddanta Candima Bhivamsa while Joint Secretary Sayadaw Aggamaha Ganthavacaka
Pandita Aggamaha Saddhammajotikadhaja Bhaddanta Paññajota acted as
master of ceremonies.
The meeting participants listened to
Ovadakatha of State Ovadacariya Sayadaws.
At the meeting, the Chairman Sayadaw
delivered a Saraniya Ovadakatha. The Union Minister for Religious Affairs and
Culture supplicated religious affairs, set records on numbers of State
Ovadacariya Sayadaws, SSMNC member Sayadaws and SCWCS member Sayadaws who
passed away within a year from Tabaung of 1385 ME to date and sought the
approval for the list of elected State Ovadacariya Sayadaws, SSMNC member
Sayadaws and members of SCWCS.
Secretary of SSMNC Aggamaha Pandita
Aggamaha Saddhammajotikadhaja Mahadhammakathika Bahujanahitadhara Bhaddanta
Vasettha Bhivamsa supplicated a brief report of the SSMNC on its work process
within a year to the meeting.
Aggamaha Pandita Bhaddanta Siha,
Aggamaha Pandita Bhaddanta Kovida and Aggamaha Pandita Dr Bhaddanta Suriya read
the Vinicchaya, religious and educational sectors in the one-year report of the
SSMNC.
Meeting participant members of the
Sangha were served day meals by U Thein Maung-Daw Pa Pa of Sandi traditional
medicine family from 240, Konzaytan Street, Yangon.
The meeting was also attended by Yangon
Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, Yangon Region ministers, departmental heads,
the pro-rector (Admin) of International Theravada Buddhist Missionary
