SAC member attends 63rd Peasants’ Day event in Kangyidaunt

THE 63rd Anniversary of Peas­ants’ Day ceremony was held yesterday morning at Wardu Village, Kangyidaunt Township, Ayeyawady Region. State Ad­ministration Council member Mahn Nyein Maung, Regional Chief Minister U Tin Maung Win and officials attended the event.

 

The ceremony began with SAC member, the Chief Minis­ter and other officials cutting the ribbon to open the event. They then toured agricultur­al exhibitions including home gardens and fruit plantations. The SAC member also met with a Russian Embassy official and a RUMA Organic company rep­resentative to discuss Russian organic fertilizers and quality sunflower seeds.

 

Officials then inspected pesticide-free crops and mod­ern sunflower plantations be­fore the SAC member read a message from SAC Chairman Prime Minister Senior Gener­al Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing. The Chief Minis­ter delivered a speech, followed by cultural performances fea­turing traditional dances and songs that entertained the at­tendees.

 

On the occasion, outstand­ing farmers were honoured with awards, and the SAC member inaugurated the Peasants’ Day exhibition, showcasing modern paddy transplanter. The event concluded with a communal lunch with farmers, a live agri­cultural discussion, and further cultural performances.

 

At the ceremony marking the 63rd Anniversary of Peas­ants’ Day, the Department of Agriculture showcased model multi-crop plantations, while the Department of Fisheries exhibited fish farms. The Agri­cultural Mechanization Depart­ment demonstrated farming equipment, including a paddy transplanter, a six-row paddy transplanter and a ten-row seeder. A total of 51 exhibition booths were set up, featuring displays on agriculture, live­stock breeding, and MSME development research. These exhibitions and discussions will continue to be held vibrantly until 4 March. — MNA/KZL
