SAC Vice-Chairman DPM Vice-Senior General Soe Win, wife Daw Than Than Nwe offer alms and day meals to venerable members of the Sangha at Buddha Day ceremony



A ceremony to donate offer­tories and day meals to members of the Sangha who attended the Buddha Day ceremony on the full moon of Kason took place at Aggadhipati Sasana Beikman in the precinct of Maravijaya Buddha Park in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning, attended by Patron of the Buddha Day ceremony of Kason full moon day of the State Administration Council Vice-Chairman Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior Gen­eral Soe Win and his wife Daw Than Than Nwe.


The ceremony was attended by Chairman of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Presid­ing Patron of Thanlyin’s Mink­yaung Pahtamabyan Buddhism Learning Centre Aggamaha Pan­dita Aggamaha Saddhammajoti­kadhaja Dr Bhaddanta Candima Bhivamsa, Secretary of SSMNC Presiding Patron of New Maso­eyein Monastery of Mahaaung­myay Township of Mandalay Abbot of Dhammathameikdi Monastery Aggamaha Pandita Aggamaha Saddhammajoti­kadhaja Maha Dhammakathika Bahujanahitadhara Bhaddanta Vasettha Bhivamsa and mem­bers of the Sangha, the Council Secretary and his wife, council members and their wives, Un­ion-level dignitaries, Union min­isters and their wives, the Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman, senior Tatmadaw officers from the Of­fice of the Commander-in-Chief and their wives, the commander of Nay Pyi Taw Command and officials.


Before the ceremony, the Vice-Senior General offered meals, fruits, flowers, water and oil light to the Buddha image in the Beikman building.


The Chairman Sayadaw administerd the Nine Precepts whereas members of the Sangha recited Parittas.


The Vice-Senior General and his wife offered offertories to the Chairman Sayadaw and the SAC Secretary and his wife to the Secretary Sayadaw while council members, and their wives and of­ficials donated alms to members of the Sangha.


The Secretary Sayadaw de­livered a sermon, and the con­gregation shared merits gained.

After the ceremony, the Vice-Senior General and wife and attendees offered day meals to the Chairman Sayadaw and members of the Sangha. — MNA/ TTA
