Students urged to keep pace with rapid developments in digital transformation and IT




DEPUTY Minister for Science and Technology Dr Aung Zeya visited the Technological Univer­sity (Meiktila) on the afternoon of 20 June. During the visit, he inspected ongoing repair works and instructed that rehabilita­tion efforts be carried out dili­gently in line with the directives.


Following this, the Deputy Minister toured buildings that had either not sustained damage or had only suffered minor im­pact from the recent Mandalay earthquake. He observed that training courses were continuing according to the academic cal­endar, with students attending regularly and engaging in prac­tical exercises. He encouraged students to strive to become competent young engineers whom the nation and its people can truly rely on.


He also emphasized the im­portance of conducting practical research to support the develop­ment needs of local economic zones and MSMEs. He urged that modern technologies rele­vant to the current demands be applied effectively.


The Deputy Minister then proceeded to visit the University of Computer Studies (Meiktila), where he carried out inspections and issued necessary instruc­tions. He observed that the uni­versity was conducting its train­ing programmes according to the academic calendar. Students were attending regularly and ac­tively practising in labs using computers. He warmly greeted the students and encouraged them to keep pace with the rapid developments in digital transfor­mation and IT.


He further stressed that ef­forts be made to nurture highly capable and well-rounded young IT professionals who are both exceptional in their skills and able to contribute to the coun­try’s development. — MNA/KNN
