Yangon General Hospital conducts bone marrow transplants




THE Yangon General Hospital performed four bone marrow transplant operations in May 2025.


Out of four patients, three were discharged and one, suf­fering from lymphoma, is in good condition. The first four patients who received bone marrow transplants with cry­opreservation were one wom­an, aged 46 from Ayeyawady Region, one man, aged 65 from Mandalay, another man, aged 57 from Yangon, one man, aged 57 from Yangon and one woman, aged 19 from Yangon.


Bone marrow transplants were performed locally at the Yangon General Hospital for three patients in 2016, three in 2017, four in 2018, one in 2019, one in 2020, three in 2024 and four in 2025, totalling 19. — May Thu (IPRD)/KTZH
