DPM MoFA Union Minister-led Myanmar delegation holds joint meeting with Chinese delegation led by CIDCA Chairman

 


A joint meeting between the Myanmar delegation led by U Than Swe, Deputy Prime Min­ister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs, and the delega­tion led by Mr Chen Xiaodong, Chairman of the China Inter­national Development Coop­eration Agency (CIDCA), was held yesterday at the Parkroyal Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw.

 

They exchanged views on providing assistance from CID­CA for post-earthquake recov­ery and rehabilitation, and pro­moting cooperation between the Government of Myanmar and CIDCA. Particularly, they discussed priority projects to be implemented in the sec­tors of construction, health, infrastructure and disaster management. Moreover, they exchanged views to continue increasing momentum on build­ing a community with a shared future that shares weal and woe through a comprehensive strategic cooperative partner­ship and deepening Swe Myo Pauk-Phaw friendship between Myanmar and China.

 

Also, present at the meet­ing were the Union ministers, deputy ministers and direc­tors-general from the Ministry of Planning and Finance, Min­istry of Foreign Affairs, Minis­try of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations, Ministry of Religious Affairs and Cul­tural, Ministry of Health, Min­istry of Construction, Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement, and the Nay Pyi Taw Council member, and Ms Ma Jia, Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar, senior represent­atives of CIDCA and diplomats of the Embassy of China in Yan­gon.

 

Following the meeting, the Union Minister for Invest­ment and Foreign Economic Relations and the Chairman of the CIDCA signed the Mem­orandum of Understanding (MoU) on Human Resources Development. Moreover, the Union Minister for Health and the Chairman of the CIDCA signed the Letter of Exchange for Feasibility Study on the Chi­na-Myanmar Friendship State-of-the-Art Specialist Hospital Project. — MNA
