DPM Union T&C Minister inspects container housing for quake-affected staff families



MEMBER of the State Admin­istration Council, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Transport and Communi­cations General Mya Tun Oo visited various locations in Nay Pyi Taw on 5 July to inspect the installation of container houses designated for staff and their families affected by the recent earthquake.

 

Accompanied by deputy ministers and departmental officials, the General oversaw the completion and relocation process of the container houses allocated by the National Disas­ter Management Committee. These units are intended to serve as temporary shelters for affected personnel of the Min­istry of Transport and Commu­nications.

 

The inspection tour includ­ed the Nay Pyi Taw Central Railway Station compound, the Department of Road Transport Administration (Ywataw), Office No (2) and Office No (5), the Nay Pyi Taw Central Post Office, and Myanma Posts and Telecommu­nications areas in Dekkhinathiri Township. The General exam­ined the provision of drinking water, electricity supply and oth­er basic necessities at the sites.

 

He instructed officials to build proper kitchen facilities, ensure all essential supplies are available and carry out system­atic planting of shade trees and vegetables around the housing units. He also called for the prompt issuance of household registration documents, the completion of remaining con­tainer house installations within the designated timeline and the swift relocation of remaining staff and their families.

 

According to the Ministry of Transport and Communications, out of 871 container houses al­located, 866 units, accounting for 99.42 per cent have already been completed. — MNA/KZL
